Becaguimec Farm

About

Becaguimec Farm (pronounced “beck-a-gwi-meck”) is a mixed livestock farm established in 2013, by John Best and Emily Shapiro at the forks of the Becaguimec Stream in Cloverdale, New Brunswick. Specializing in Rose Veal, the farm also raises Dairy Cows, Pigs, Chickens, Turkeys, and Guinea Fowl. Our farm is certified organic through TCO because we are concerned about the well being of our animals, the health of our streams and forest, and the quality of the food we sell and eat. Our livestock is always raised without regular hormones or antibiotics and would only receive medication when medically necessary, like you and me. All our animals are humanely raised. From spring to fall they relish life in the pasture, in winter months they live in large pens together with companions. By creating comfortable, clean, and stress free living conditions, our animals are healthy and rarely if ever require medication. Prevention of illness is the key. Small herd and flock sizes, appropriate and locally sourced feed, and access to pasture allow our animals to thrive.

Buying Our Meat
We sell wholesale directly to customers as well as smaller quantities and individuals cuts at the Woodstock Farm and Craft Market. Our pork and veal are sold by the side and custom cut to the specifications of each customer. Chicken and turkey are sold whole for roasting. Prices vary according to current feed and processing costs.
