The mission of the Saint-Thomas vineyard is to ensure that all Quebecers are proud of Quebec wines. At the turn of the 1980s, Quebec viticulture was born. In these first years, the wines were not all great wines! As a result, many people began to denigrate Quebec wines. Fortunately, with the experience gained, new knowledge and technological advancement, Quebec wines have undergone a remarkable evolution. In short, we want Quebeckers to trust the wines of their province. Ladies and gentlemen, give yourself the trouble to rediscover our products and you will be pleasantly surprised.
The vision of the Saint-Thomas vineyard is to make good wines by minimizing the ecological footprint. We use the principle of reasoned culture. So there is no systematic application of chemicals. The vineyard has two devices to reduce the application of pesticides. The first being a mechanical weeder and the second a high-performance ecological sprayer. In addition, we add the scraps of our asparagus in our compost. By listening to nature, it makes us feel good since our wines win prizes every year.
We offer two white wines, one rosé wine, two red wines, two fortified wines and one sparkling wine. Our different grape varieties are Frontenac, Marquette, Aldamina, Sainte-Croix, Radisson, Sabrevois and Swenson White. We also have Merlot, this famous grape from Bordeaux. Our wines owe their beautiful qualities to the sandy soil that makes the roots of the vines go deeply to draw their nutrients. The rich sediments left by the passage of the Champlain Sea and the silica levels of the soil create a particular climate conducive to the cultivation of grapes. We produce about 20,000 bottles a year.
